MaivenPoint Celebrates First Cohort Graduation from AvePoint–SUTD Cybersecurity Programme
The first cohort of the Master’s in Cybersecurity programme – led by MaivenPoint and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) under the Singapore-Vietnam Talent Exchange (ITX) Programme – has officially graduated, marking a significant step forward in advancing the development of next-generation cybersecurity talent.
A total of 23 students, who enrolled in the MaivenPoint Work-Study Programme in September 2024, successfully completed the Master of Science in Technology and Design (Cybersecurity) from SUTD while working full-time at AvePoint — demonstrating not only academic excellence but also real-world readiness.
Over two years, the cohort balanced postgraduate education with professional responsibilities, gaining hands-on experience in enterprise cybersecurity environments.

The initiative is part of the ITX Programme, a government-to-government effort designed to accelerate digital talent development and deepen cross-border collaboration.

Speaking at the ceremony, AvePoint CEO TJ Jiang shared reflections on his personal journey and the mindset required to build from uncertainty.
“My whole life was defined by the sudden drops of the unknown. But it led me to discover a profound truth: I could survive with my own grit. Instead of letting the fear paralyze me, I used that moment to take complete ownership of my destiny. In 2003, from a public library, with no venture capital, but just our brains and bare hands, my cofounder Kai and I started AvePoint.”
Drawing from his experience of building a global company from the ground up, TJ emphasized that resilience, adaptability, and ownership are essential traits for the next generation of technology leaders.
This philosophy is deeply aligned with the programme’s mission — to develop not only strong technical capabilities, but also the leadership mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
