MaivenPoint, a leading EdTech SaaS solution provider, in collaboration with AvePoint and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) – the world’s first design AI university – hosted AgentCon Singapore 2025.

This one-day AI Agents conference drew over 900 sign-ups and 15 global speakers, bringing together AI enthusiasts and professionals to learn, collaborate, and shape the future of AI.

The event highlighted the rapid evolution of AI and agentic AI, and the growing demand for professionals who can not only build solutions but also apply them responsibly across industries. Sessions spanned live demos, hands-on workshops, and thought-provoking discussions, exploring both the technical and human dimensions of AI — from practical adoption to ethical use.

“As we saw at AgentCon, people are curious and eager to explore AI and agentic AI, and keen to understand how it can be applied in real-world scenarios,” said Zoe Shang, CEO of MaivenPoint.

“AI is advancing fast, and curiosity alone isn’t enough. Professionals need skills, and businesses need talent that can translate AI into real impact. By launching the MaivenPoint Academy, we aim to train the next generation of AI talent, equipping them with the skills and experience needed to be workforce- and project-ready — helping businesses accelerate their AI adoption and drive real impact.”

Building the Next Generation of AI Talent

According to LinkedIn data, Singapore’s share of AI talent grew by 565% between 2016 and 2022 — a trend that has only accelerated in the years since, as adoption of AI becomes mainstream across industries. In AI-exposed roles, skills are evolving 66% faster than last year, particularly in jobs with high automation potential. At the same time, many businesses are eager to explore AI and agentic technologies — but progress is often constrained by a shortage of skilled tech professionals who can turn AI concepts into practical solutions. Without this talent, organisations struggle to implement AI effectively, slowing innovation and delaying measurable impact.

According to McKinsey, only 1% of leaders describe their companies as “mature” in AI deployment, meaning AI is fully integrated into workflows and driving substantial business outcomes.

Recognising this opportunity, MaivenPoint is investing in the next generation of AI talent through initiatives that combine learning, hands-on experience, and industry collaboration.

Central to this effort is the MaivenPoint Academy, which offers learning pathways, mentorship, and on-the-job training to equip professionals with practical skills in AI and emerging technologies. In partnership with SUTD, the MaivenPoint Academy also runs a Work-Study programme supported by the governments of Singapore and Vietnam, providing participants with cross-border experience and the chance to apply their skills in real-world business settings.

Mr John Leong, Director of SUTD Academy and Chief Lifelong Learning and Innovation Officer at SUTD, said:

“Through our Design AI training, we are equipping learners not just with technical proficiency, but also with the ability to design, apply, and adapt AI responsibly in real-world settings. By partnering MaivenPoint, we can extend this approach to more professionals, building AI-ready talent who are prepared to drive innovation and create sustainable impact across industries.”
